State of Florida V. Seymour Schuss - Manslaughter

Attorney Sale defended Seymour Schuss, a 70-year old Florida man who as charged with the death of Ruben Rosenberg, a 74 year old retired insurance salesman. The incident occurred on Nov. 8, 2002, while Schuss and Rosenberg waited in line to buy tickets for the 7:10 p.m. showing of "Never Again" at the Tamarac Cinema 5.

Schuss and his wife, were in line for tickets behind Rosenberg as he fumbled to get his money together. Yvonne Schuss reportedly grew impatient and told Rosenberg to hurry up.

The situation escalated quickly as Rosenberg allegedly told Mrs. Schuss to "shut up." Schuss hit Rosenberg on the chin, and Rosenberg fell and hit his head on the pavement, then lapsed into a coma. He died 16 days later.

The trial resulted in a hung jury in light over whelming evidence presented by the defense.
